My Reunion Story
I started looking on the Web for resources, and found Bastard Nation, and a couple of other pages, and decided to make a collection of links for my own use. As it grew, I ended up publishing the list on the Web for others to use also. A little site called Classmates.com helped me get in touch with former alumni of the high schools in Athens from around the time my birthmother gave birth to me. As I contacted these people, I got various answers to my questions, ranging from "I'm not sure", to "I would help if I could". Then, I got one response that seemed pretty hopeful. It turned out that my birthmother's sister's sister-in-law, Jenni Little, was also a former alumnus, and she was willing to ask her "friend" (she was being cautious at the time) about my information. I got an email the next day asking me who the adoption lawyer was, and confirming that Ann Parker (used to be Wagener) indeed is my birthmother. Because of Jenni, I was able to hear from my birthmother without alerting the rest of my birthfamily. She contacted Ann in a very discreet and respectful way, which I appreciate. From then on, I continued to email her and get to know the person who gave me life so long ago. I found out that we have alot in common, and but that's for the next time...
