How can you be so cruel?
How could you say such things?
Have you no heart at all?
Couldn't you stop to think?

How many people's lives have
you crushed with a careless phrase?
How many caring hearts are
destroyed under your relentless gaze?

Are you blind to hurt,
immune to love and care?
is your heart a stone,
your emotions bare?

Where is the milk of human kindness
that should fill your heart with love?
Think of him who watches o'er us all,
judging from above.
