A Prayer for Lori
Please, God, give Lori the strength she needs, for her will to keep going will be stronger with your help. Please, Lord, help Lori to see the beautiful person she is, and that you love her because of her loving heart, and see beyond any physical faults she may see in her own body. Help her to understand that happiness comes not from beauty, or other people, but from an understanding, and contentment with herself and her goals. Help her understand that Your workings in her life are not always visible, and that like Lazarus, whose body waited three days after death before being healed, Jesus will ask us to wait, for He works on a time table that we may not see. Help her to love her child, and give her child as much love as she can, for Becca is a gift from you, as is the unborn child, whom she must also give love, every day, in her heart, for many wonders go on in the womb, and the unborn child feels what the mother feels, and needs to know it is loved. Help her to overcome her fears, about being alone, about being an inadequate mother, about not having someone else there to help raise her children. Teach her that there is always someone there, You are always with her, and whatever comes about with Terry's divorce, Becca will always have a heavenly father in You. Help her make the decision, let her know Your will in regards to this divorce, through Your words, through those that care for her, and through the choices that Terry makes, for he must decide on his own what path he will take. Help Lori to understand that he will need to deal with his own problems before he can deal with a child and a wife. If he cannot deal with these problems, through your advice, through counseling, and through the knowledge he has of right and wrong, help Lori to choose whether he should act as father to her children. If she does chooses Terry as their father, help Lori to protect her children and herself from anyone who would harm them with physical, emotional, and verbal abuse. Help her to keep him in counseling. If she does not choose Terry, help her find a supportive, loving group of people that will aid her in raising her children. Give her a male presence in her life that will install values according to Your will in her children. If she does not choose Terry, help Lori to protect her children and herself from anyone who would harm them with physical, emotional, and verbal abuse. Give her a male presence in her life whether he be a friend, mate, or family member, that will share the male's opinion and advice when she needs to talk. Give her a female presence in her life whether she be friend, or family, that will share the female's opinion and advice when she needs to talk. Help her to choose friends who will stay by her side, and support her as an instrument of Your love. Lord, protect and strengthen Lori for the trials she must face in life, for You did not guarantee it would be easy, and Your son told us it would be difficult at times. Give her the capacity for love that will set a true example of Your grace, and help her spread her love like a warm embrace around her children.
