Variation on "Sing a Song of Sixpence"

Sing a song of Sadness,
Pocket full of lies.
Innocence is over;
I see it in your eyes.

How you tell your story,
no more fairy tales,
Snow White's gotten pregnant,
and her marriage fails.

All those children's stories
ended with a smile.
Disney made them into
money by the mile.

Real life doesn't do it
quite the way we thought.
Good ones lose the battle,
people can be bought.

Our world can be a lonely
struggle to survive,
some know how to find
happiness in their lives.

Friends can soften hardship;
Lovers calm our fears.
Parents share their wisdom,
Mothers soothe our tears.

When the day is over,
try to find a smile.
Even when your heart breaks,
life is still worthwhile.
